Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”  – John 20:21-22

In these two short verses we find everything we need in order to live as faithful witnesses of Christ Jesus.

Live in the peace of God.  This peace is given by Jesus and is made manifest in your life through the Holy Spirit.  Those who find their peace in Jesus are no longer at war within themselves or with others.  Adversaries may come against us and troubles may still beset us, but the peace of Christ passes all understanding. Have you found your fulfillment in Jesus Christ alone?  Have you experienced His peace?

Go in the purposes of God.  Jesus has commissioned us to go and make disciples (Matt. 28:19) and to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8).  He is our example of how to walk in the way of Godliness.  When we are living in God’s peace, we have the courage to live for Christ and speak for Christ because we are not living for the things of the world.  Do not be afraid to walk in obedience.

Trust in the power of God.  It is through the Holy Spirit that Jesus performed miracles.  It is through the Holy Spirit that the apostles experienced God’s power.  It is through the Holy Spirit that YOU have access to the wisdom, guidance, and power of God in your life.  Instead of saying what you can’t do, trust in what God can do through you.  He has not called you to fail, so He will equip you to carry out the mission He has given you.
